Celebrate the 10th Annual Full Moon Film Festival with the Opening Night Gala Featuring Game Bomb - Survival of the Fastest

The Full Moon Film Festival is proud to announce its 10th Annual Festival, kicking off with an exciting opening night gala on Thursday 14th November at NCC.

This year, the festival will feature an exclusive screening of Gama Bomb - Survival of the Fastest, a compelling documentary directed by local filmmaker Kiran Acharya.

When Gama Bomb’s track "Sea Savage" hit the American Billboard charts, the cult Irish thrash band found themselves grounded by lockdowns, missing a drummer, and unable to tour. Survival of the Fastest chronicles their journey as they reunite to embark on a quest to perform for 10,000 fans at Hellfest, famously known as ‘The Glastonbury of Metal.’

‘WARM AND WAYWARD…
A JOYOUS CHAPTER IN THE STORY OF ULSTER PUNK.’

DOCS IRELAND

Kiran Acharya's documentary is a heartfelt tribute to Ulster punk, capturing a vibrant chapter in the band's 20-year history against the backdrop of Northern Ireland's evolving landscape—from the early days of the Peace Process to present-day performances across Tokyo, Newry, London, Dublin, Belfast, and beyond.

Filmed in various locations, including Manchester, Leeds, Derry, Birmingham, Tilburg, Norwich, Emmen, and Glasgow, the film showcases the camaraderie of Domo Dixon, John ‘JR’ Roche, Joe McGuigan, and Philly Byrne as they strive to keep the live music spirit alive during unprecedented times.

‘THE NORTHERN IRISH BAND HAVE GONE FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH, AMASSING A SIGNIFICANT GLOBAL FOLLOWING.’

HOT PRESS

Survival of the Fastest has been celebrated as a joyful addition to the legacy of Ulster punk, following in the footsteps of landmark films like John T Davis’ Shellshock Rock (1979) and Good Vibrations (2013). The documentary premiered as part of the official selection for Docs Ireland, alongside other notable Irish premieres.

The opening night gala promises to be a memorable event, featuring an introduction by Kiran Acharya, limited edition artwork, a director interview, and a Q&A session with Gama Bomb, allowing attendees to engage directly with the creative minds behind this inspiring film.
