Join the Audience for - Any Questions with Chris Mason

BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions? will be broadcast from NCC on the evening of Friday 17 September. 

Presenter Chris Mason, BBC Political Correspondent, will put questions from the audience to the panel of 4 speakers – all people prominent in politics, policy-making or current affairs. 

This is your chance to put a question to a panel of 4 speakers on live radio. Sharpen that pencil!

NCC is running the event with a lower seating capacity to allow for social distancing, so tickets are limited. Tickets are free and available online here or by emailing bookings@newcastlecineam.org.

Any Questions? was first broadcast in 1948 and every week it visits a different part of the UK with a panel of 4 speakers. The audience submits questions on the night of the broadcast and these are then sifted by the producer who selects ten questions across a range of subjects. One of the stringent rules of Any Questions? is that the panel never sees the questions in advance. They hear them for the first time at the same moment the audience in the hall and at home does.

Any Questions? is broadcast live on Radio 4 on Friday evenings following the 8pm news and is repeated on Saturday at 1.10pm, followed at 2.00pm by Any Answers? – the phone-in programme which gives listeners a chance to join in the debate by calling or e-mailing Anita Anand.

On the night:

6.30pm – Doors open – take a card for your question and be shown to your seats

7.25pm – Doors close for welcome to programme and warm up

7.45pm – BBC producer calls the questioners to the front

8.02pm – Live broadcast begins

NCC’s COVID-19 policy requires audience members to wear a mask while moving through the building, but not while seated. Ticketing requires a phone number or email address for contact tracing.
