Dinner for Six - Friday

  • Newcastle Community Cinema Northern Ireland, BT33 0AD United Kingdom (map)

Greetings fans of the theatre. Back by popular demand, Dinner For Six, an original play created and performed by Community Studio Productions, is returning for two nights in January at NCC Newcastle.

Dinner for Six is a dark comedy of lifelong friends who meet for their annual dinner party in memory of their late friend, Martin. Marriage is put on trial as Christina and Don witness for themselves the truth behind matrimony as wine disintegrates the pretence and polish of well practised lies.

Join us for the worst dinner party of their lives, as they air out their dirty laundry, reveal their pathetic little sex lives and finally say the things they have been itching to say for decades

Performance Times:

Door Open at 7pm - Performance Starts at 8pm - Tickets £10

Performance #1 - Friday 26th January at 8pm

Performance #2 - Saturday 27th January at 8pm

About Community Studio Productions…

A word from Mark Hasley, Chair of CSP

CSP’s rebirth began in April 2023. Previously known as Castlewellan Studio Players and primarily a drama group, the volunteers of CSP decided that having received charity status, we wanted to be more than just a drama group, we wanted to become a community group, one that welcomed anyone regardless of race, religion, gender or disability.

Having recently obtained the lease on the old art gallery at 1 Savoy Lane, Newcastle, and following a lot of long days and hard work, we were able to open our building to the public on 17th August 2023. Our membership has grown since April to 20+ and amongst our new recruits are several members who are neurodiverse and since joining CSP have become valued members of the team. Their development within the team only endorses what we are trying to achieve. We recently put on our first play as Community Studio Productions - Dinner For Six - in the Lodge, Castlewellan, and as well as performing, they were involved in Sound, Lighting and Stage Management.

Within our building we offer rooms for hire to local groups, and currently have a yoga group and a recovery support group using our facilities. An important part of our new premises is the 'Black' room, complete with its own stage and equipment, ready to offer immersive theatre nights, open mic nights, storytelling events, improv evenings and other events along similar lines in early 2024.

At this time some of our new neurodiverse members are involved in writing, producing, directing and acting in their own immersive theatre play, which they hope to perform in early or mid 2024.

We continue to welcome everyone to come along and try a new experience.
