Longlegs
Seasoned Friday FrightNighters / NCC fam will know rightly we will screen essentially every Nic Cage film released. End of April is no exception, as we bring you his most recent scenery-devouring escapade, as serial killer Dale Kobble AKA Longlegs, in director Osgood Perkin's (everyone knows he's Antony Perkins' son, right? Mad.) 1974-set serial killer thriller. A strong whiff of Silence Of The Lambs pervades this effective, chilling, darkly poetic work from Perkins (in a good way), as we join FBI agent Lee Harker (an excellent Maika Monroe), neck deep in an investigation into a series of occultist, familial murder suicides in Oregon. What follows is innovative, chilling, nightmarish cinema of the first order, as Harker disappears further down the rabbit hole, taking us, her squirming, anxiety-ridden audience with her. It's theatrical & unforgettable, & righteously smashed box office last year - so join us for a cosy night in with Longlegs, & see what all this blimmin' fuss is all about.
