This fascinating documentary set amongst the stunning mountains of Sichuan follows the work of scientists at the Chengdu Research Base for Giant Panda Breeding (aka Chengdu Panda Base) in China, who have taken their work to the next level by preparing captive-born cubs for release in the wild.

After years of successfully breeding captive pandas, a researcher's passion leads her to initiate a new reintroduction technique inspired by a black bear rehabilitator in rural New Hampshire. The star of the show is unquestionably Qian Qian (pronounced Chen Chen), a panda so outrageously cute & mischievous that you may actually faint from over-adorability. Wondrous.
