Film Festival Schools Programme

  • Newcastle Community Cinema Northern Ireland, BT33 0AD United Kingdom (map)

Welcome to the 10th Annual Full Moon Film Festival Schools Programme!

We are thrilled to celebrate a decade of inspiring young minds through film as we partner once again with 'Into Film' for this year’s Full Moon Film Festival.

Our mission remains steadfast: to help educators bring learning to life for 5-19-year-olds across the UK by encouraging them to watch, understand, and create films in innovative ways.

This year’s programme is part of the national 'Into Film' Film Festival, which features thousands of free screenings, exciting special events, and previews, along with interactive Q&A sessions with industry professionals. It's a unique opportunity for students to experience the magic of cinema and engage with the creative process.

Bookings for this year’s festival are now open, and with limited spots available, we encourage you to secure your places quickly! Join us in this celebration of film, creativity, and community—let’s make this a memorable experience for our young filmmakers and film enthusiasts!

You'll need an Into Film Account to join Into Film and have full access to Into Film Clubs, resources, training and the Into Film Festival. This year’s films available to book now

Kung Fu Panda 4 - Tuesday 12th November at 10am

It's far from black & white for Po in this superb new instalment of the KFP franchise - whilst preparing to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley Of Peace (no pressure!), he is also tasked with discovering & training up an all-new Dragon Warrior to replace him! And to make matters even trickier, the wicked sorceress Zhen (sinisterly voiced by Awkwafina), hatches a horrible scheme to re-summon all the master villains whom Po has already vanquished to the spirit realm! Grrr!

Theater Camp - Tuesday 12th November at 1.05pm

When the beloved, inspirational founder of an upstate NYC theatre camp tragically falls into a coma, it’s up to his motley crew of "unique" staff members to pull together to find the finances to keep their camp afloat. Based on the 2020 short of the same name, this warm, quirky mockumentary pulls along at a right old pace, and is overflowing with jazz hand performances and a really funny script throughout. Great fun, and perfect for drama & theatre lovers.

Elemental - Wednesday 13th November at 10am

Leah Lewis & Mamoudou Athie take the main VO roles as Ember & Wade in Disney Pixar's wonderfully funny & visually staggering opus, based around the notion of fire & water: could they ever really "get on"? This zany premise propels into a madcap romcom featuring a who's who of anthropomorphic elements of nature (much more fun than it sounds!) underpinned with Pixar’s usual breathtaking visual flair & originality. There's adventure & chases aplenty, but at its fiery, watery heart is a very human love story.
