Top Secret!

“It’s OK, I know a little German - he’s sat over there!” Val Kilmer’s first feature film is also by far & away his best, not to mention being unquestionably one of the funniest comedies ever made. 

The early 80s comedy powerhouse of Jim Abrahams, David Zucker & Jerry Zucker were responsible for both Airplane! movies, and a whole slew of high-octane, fast-paced, intensely silly & very funny films, but for our dollars, Top Secret! is up there with the very best. 

A cheeky take on Elvis films, Kilmer plays Nick Rivers, an American rock’n’roll singer somehow embroiled in a Resistance plot to rescue a scientist imprisoned in East Germany. The gags come thick & fast from the very opening, and while parts are a little dated, Top Secret is still a riot.
